Proposition 1 - One-tenth of 1 percent (0.1) sales and use tax increase Proposition 1 seeks voter approval on the November 5, 2019, ballot to increase sales and use tax by one-tenth of 1 percent (0.1%), or 1 cent on a $10 taxable purchase, for emergency communications systems and facilities. More revenue is needed to replace the 25-year old analog public safety radio system. Current revenues do not meet the expected $10 million costs to replace the system.
